These are some really cool and little-known ruins, situated on a hill in the middle of the Teutoburg Forest. A castle was built on this site in the 12th century and held significant strategic importance, controlling the surrounding territories and trade routes. In the Middle Ages, the castle belonged to noble families and was repeatedly the subject of conflicts.
