The hunting lodge is located in a forest near the town of Bückeburg. It’s not a tourist spot, but that’s precisely its appeal - it’s quiet, peaceful, and deserted. The lodge was built in the 18th century as a hunting residence for the Counts of Schaumburg-Lippe. At that time, hunting was an important part of aristocratic life, and such castles were used as a place of rest during trips to the forest.
Currently, the castle is used as a camp for schoolchildren, but visitors are free to walk around the grounds. Near the castle, there is a pond and an artificial grotto.
